Crafty Little Me!!!!

So I have been wanting to sew for aLONG time now but with school I didn't have the time and then I realized that I was just using that as an excuse. I was afraid, plain and simple. I have told myself for years that I am not a sew'er' (not a sewer) and that I canNOT sew. But then a few weeks ago I remembered that I took a sewing class in high school (almost 8 years ago) and I sewed a pillow and a sweat shirt. If I can do that in high school I can sew now. So I bought some fabric to make a blanket for baby Jackson and this is what I got.

Pretty cute huh???!!!!! I was really excited about it and Carson was pretty upset when he found out that it was for the baby and not him. So I had to make him something to make up for it. And McKenna as well.
So this is what I made for them.

Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue!!!! Carson has worn his around the house a few times and McKenna doesn't really seem to care about it. I am sure she will when we make cookies and we are all in our aprons. I know it is kinda funny to have McKenna in a Buzz apron also but I had enough fabric and I figured I would save the money and make two. She choose the blue bias tape instead of red and it made me proud. I have always loved blue and I now know she has a streak of me in there. :) Carson's favorite color is yellow so he got the yellow one. I ran out of bias tape so I haven't done the pockets yet.

pattern courtsey of the blog sewmuchado.blogspot.com. She has really cute stuff on there.
I don't know what happened to Carson's picture but I can't get it to come out right.
When I went to Idaho Falls a few weeks ago my Grandma Osborne made this blanket for baby Jackson and I love it. She put a lot of hours into this blanket. Thanks Grandma O.

I also made these burp rags out of the diaper cloths.

I just sewed some ribbon on these two and on the other I just cut out the fabric sewed it on and then sewed the ribbon on top of that. I am super excited about these even though they are not hard to make it is the fact that I made them. I am aspiring to be crafty like my cousin Bobi. :) She is making the car seat cover for the baby because I am not THAT crafty YET!!! I am going to make a nursing cover eventually.

I am super excited about this new talent that I am working on and I can't wait to make more exciting crafts.

Baby Jackson

So last Friday, my birthday, we went in to find out if we were having a boy or girl. You can probably tell from the background on the blog that we are having a BOY!!!!! We are very excited about this and Carson was right on from the day he found out we were having a baby. He told us several times we were having a 'Baby Jackson'. We have no idea where he came up with this name and the only thing we can think of is when we were pregnant with him, Jackson was on our list of names and he heard the name in utero (sp) and it has stuck with him since. Anyway we love the name and it made it really easy for us to choose a boy name.

(Not the best pictures. They are pictures of pictures. )
Carson loves watching the video of Baby Jackson. He has watched it probably 10 times. He loves hearing the heartbeat and when color comes up showing the fluids he tells everybody that is his food. It is fun to watch him be so excited about it. He also talks to the baby and tickles my belly. And he asks me almost everyday if the baby has 'popped' out yet.

Okay on to some other news that is kinda hard to talk about.
When we went in we found out that I have a placenta previa. If you don't know what that is, it is when the placenta is covering the cervix. You can have a marginal, partial or complete previa and I believe mine is a complete one. You can see in the video where the placenta is covering the cervix. The placenta also looks smaller with the previa.
We were told to be aware of bleeding slight or heavy. If it is heavy I am to get to the hospital ASAP!!!! We were also told I would more than likely have a c-section and a baby at 34 weeks. I was also asked how far I live from a hospital and how easy would it be for me to have another adult with me at all times to rush me to the hospital if needed. If that doesn't freak someone out I don't know what will.
We have a follow up ultrasound at 28 weeks to see if it has moved at all and where to go from there. We are hoping that the placenta will move and leave an opening by the cervix so we can skip all of this stuff.
It was pretty hard hearing all of this and it is scary but I can't really do anything about it right now other than take it easy on the heavy lifting. When we have the next ultrasound we will know more and be able to prepare ourselves better.

I don't know if any of this makes sense but these are the thoughts and feelings running through me. If any of you have had or know anybody that has had this you should let me know about your (their) experience.

I bought this fabric yesterday to make a car seat cover for Baby Jackson. My cousin Bobi is going to help me make it, or I should probably say that she is going to make it for me. :) I love the fabric and I am super excited for it.

Prepare yourselves

Okay this has been a long time coming. A lot has happened in the last few months and so I am using that as my excuse. :) Most recently, like as of last night, we sold my car. I bought my BEAutiful Honda Accord in 2003 and paid for the whole thing myself. So it is a little bitter sweet to see it go.

But we are needing a bigger vehicle, hint, hint;) so we bought my grandparents van. I don't have a picture of the van sorry.
We also have just moved to Utah. I am sure most of you know this but I couldn't leave that out. We are living with my In-laws for know and we have a house that we need to fix up and then we can move in. It will take awhile so we don't know how long we will be here. But we are happy to have such amazing family that will let us take over their basement for months.

Carson helping dad take apart the bed. So cute!

Christmas- This year for Christmas was so different because of moving. Christmas day we came home from being with my family and took down our sad little tree.

It was a great Christmas, we stayed at my brother Jake's house and had our own little Christmas in his basement.
The kids love to take the chairs and pretend that they were Santa's Reindeer, and they would say 'Ho,ho,ho Merry Christmas. It was so cute.

What was left of the milk, cookies and carrots.

My cute headband the my friend made and Cameron so wisely got me. Carson with his new jacket and his beloved movie Wall-E. He had been asking for Wall-E since like July so he was pretty excited when he got it from Santa.

I got more movies than pictures so sorry there isn't much from Christmas.
We graduated- this is the most exciting thing of all. After 6 years of school, 5 years of marriage, and two children I finally graduated. I officially got my BA in Early Childhood/Special Education. Cameron also graduated. He received his associates in Automotive. Now for this occasion I have lots of pictures.
My adorable husband and myself.

Our BEAutiful children!

My wonderful sister. (Sorry Brandi this is the only picture I had of us.)

Me being me!

My grandma Osborne Supporting us.

Again my wonderful little family.

My Grandma Ames supporting us.

Carson wearing our stylin' hats!

My BEAutiful mom. My dad couldn't make it because he was in Baton Rouge working. (I hope I am spelling that right.)

Hooray! Cameron's parents also came to support us.

Our good friend Stephanie, and McKenna's favorite person.

And here is one just because he is cute. This is an outfit my cousin Bobi got for Carson. He loves it.

Here is a funny video of McKenna trying to jump rope. It is pretty cute.

Well I think that updates me for the last couple of months. So long!

Halloween

BOO!!!! Hehehe
We had a ward Halloween party that was super fun. The committee did games from Minute to Win It. There was one game that nobody won but me. That's right!! I am AWESOME and very humble. :)
Carson and McKenna were Woody and Jessie. It was funny because there was another Woody and Jessie and it was a couple. Then there was a little Buzz and a baby Woody. Super cute.

Can you tell what Cameron and I were for Halloween? If you were told don't give it away.
(Brandi:) Hint: it goes along with Toy Story!

McKenna's first hair cut!!!

I have been too chicken to get McKenna's hair cut for two years now. Okay not really two years because her hair hasn't been this long for two years. Her hair started growing really fast the last 6 months and everybody is always commenting on how long and pretty it is. So I finally got the courage to have a friend of mine cut her hair (just a skiff off really). Thanks Ashley! I forgot my camera and she was kind enough to let me use her camera and then email me the pictures. So here are a few pictures of the event.
I don't think she knows what is happening.

She held so still, it was amazing.

No she did not cut off that much it is just her smoothing it out. I am not ready for that big of a cut yet!
That is how much she cut off. I told you just a skiff.

I love this picture. She is like 'What is going on?"

Carson loves babies and they are always kind enough to let my kids hold her.
