CHIRSTMAS

Christmas in Island Park-
We had Christmas with Cameron's family this year in island park and it was so fun and relaxing.
We took our tree up with us so that way we didn't have to go without a tree at the cabin. We made a paper chain and snowflakes to go on the tree and LaNona gave us each ornaments to go on the tree.
See the reindeer by the tree Cameron and I made that last year.
When we got to the cabin we were in charge of setting up and getting it warm for the rest of the family. When we were done we went went outside to go and play on the new sled that Santa brought early.

We discovered that Carson loves the snow but McKenna not so much. She didn't want to be put down not even in the sled, even if I was holding her and we weren't even moving. We still had so much FUN though. The boys in the family started to build a snow fort but it ended up being a tunnel. If you look really close you can see Cameron and McKenna through there.

Carson is decorating cookies to put out for Santa, he was in charge of putting the sprinkles on after grandma frosted it. Look how hard he is concentrating. He is so cute!

Here the kids are opening their Christmas eve pjs. Can you tell which is Carson and which is McKenna? (McKenna is the one with the longer blond hair.)
Carson got Buzz Lightyear Pjs. So handsome!

McKenna got her first nightgown. This is her Christmas morning, we didn't get any good pictures the night before. She got a stroller and a doll from Santa Claus.

We didn't get many pictures of the rest of the morning. My big gift from Cameron was a sewing machine. (Bobi I am going to need your help) Cameron got a pair of carhart (sp) coveralls to wear for work to keep him warm. We had so much fun while we were there. I didn't want to come home. Before we left we got a family picture outside on the deck. Isn't is beautiful?! This is only part of the view we have of the river from the cabin.

They made shirts for the whole family that says Gurr 2010. Weird, 2010 already!
Goofy picture!

Here are the kids with Grandma Gurr.

I hope everyone had as beautiful of a Christmas as we did. I am so grateful for my Savior for all he did for me and still continues to do . I love my family and I am excited to see how this next year with be for us.

Can I just brag for a minute?

Well the semester is done and I could not be happier about it. I love going to school and learning but I don't love the added stress if puts on my family. My poor house has been neglected terribly and today I swept AND mopped the floors....even the bathroom floors. I cleaned the bathrooms a few days ago and I don't even want to think about how long it had been since I had. But that is not what I am bragging about.

I took 6 classes this semester, two of them block classes so five each block. Well my final grades are as follows......
Literacy practicum- A
Career explorations (I needed one more credit) A
Toddler Lab A
Social Studies methods A
Science methods B+
Math methods B

That is what I am BRAGGING about!

Thanks to my family and friends who gave me words of encouragement through out the semester. I couldn't have done it without you.

Also to my wonderful hubby so supports me in my desire to graduate college. Thanks Cameron!

I will go to school these next two semesters and then student teach in the fall and graduate in December. I am going to have a huge party to celebrate this momentous occasion. By the time I graduate I will have been in school for 6 and 1/2 YEARS! I could almost be a doctor:)

Sorry there are no pictures I will update about everything that has gone on in the last few months after Christmas.
I love you all and have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MCKENNA

McKenna's 1st birthday was yesterday and we had a lot of fun with her eating her cake and opening her presents but I will post the pictures later. We were able to go to Utah this weekend and celebrate with G&G Gurr and family and we just got home. But I thought I would just put a little post saying happy birthday to my Baby Girl. We love you!!!

I thought it would be fun to do a time line of before birth...(minutes before we walked to the hospital.)
right after birth...and today...

Toe concussion

Okay ugly picture, I know, but it tells the story. Yes that is my toe, if you look really close on the sides of the nail you can see blue. That is a bruise. The dark spot in the middle is blood.
So here is the story...
A little background first... In my family we have what we like to call Brandi-isms. Background done. Well I told Brandi that I had a toe concussion because a bell (you know the ones that have the handle and the little thing in the middle that dings) fell on my toe when I was putting McKenna in her car seat at the day care. I have no idea how it fell I just know it did. Proof is right here. And it HURT LIKE HECK. Oh man did it hurt, and it still does. So when I was done telling Brandi about what happened she asked me if I was just kidding about my toe having a concussion. I laughed (I am still laughing about it) and told her I was kidding and then she goes "I was wondering how you found out that you had a toe concussion." So that is my funny story. I love you Brandi! I just had to share because it made me laugh so dang hard.

This just in!!!

So McKenna is walking short distances. Like from mommy to daddy short but she is still walking. She will be 11 months old tomorrow i can't believe how fast time flies. We were able to get a video of her walking. She sure knows what the good stuff is, we were bribing her with an ice cream bar apparently it worked.

Oh and check out this blog, it is called the Polka-dotdaisy,http://www.thepolka-dotdaisy.blogspot.com/. She has some really cute things on there and she is doing a give away.

Another catch up

Welcome baby Jorgen. This is my brother Jake's new baby. It is their 4th and the 9th grandchild.
He was born on the 23 at 1:11 PM
and was 7lbs. 5 oz and 20.5 in. long. He is such a cutie.

We have had a visitor since last Thursday. Her name is Lu-lu, She is a basset hound-weenier mix. She is very cute but this has made us realize that we are not ready for a dog. It has been fun but we are looking forward to Sunday when our friends come and get her.

McKenna is all over the place and has started to stand on her own in the middle of a room. It is very exciting but also sad, my baby is almost 11months old. The time flies by. She is blowing kisses, says; thank you, hi, bye, ma-ma, pa-pa, da-da, and she has just started saying excuse me.She says lots more and is learning more everyday. She plays peek-a-boo, she loves the dog, and eating or putting the food on her head.
Carson is still just as crazy as ever. If I put a head band on McKenna he wants on one him, I think it is funny Cameron... not so much. We are still working on potty training, he is finally starting to tell me that he need to go 'poopoo'. Before he didn't really seem to get it so this is exciting. We will see how the next couple of weeks go.

Cameron and I start school on the 10th and we are excited and not so excited about it. Cameron got a job at a shop and is still working at speedy, as well as running his business. He is busy but enjoys working on cars.

The love of our Father.

Last night we got a phone call telling us that Cameron's cousin past away. He had been sick for a long time and they just found out that it was cancer, he started chemo but he was to sick for it to work. His name is Jason and he is 15 years old. They have 2 children who are on missions now and one who just received his call last week. All in South America. I believe that they have 6 children.
I laid in bed last night thinking how terrible it would be to lose a child, I can't even imaging how Mary his mother was feeling.
I am so grateful for the knowledge that I have knowing that families are eternal and even though Jason is gone from his family now they will be able to see him again. He is free from his pain and with those who love him and his family who have already passed on.
I love my children and my husband and I am thankful that they are mine for eternity and that Heavenly Father trusts me with them.
I am sorry that this is a bit depressing but I just felt that I should share my feelings.

And the winner is.....

Drum roll please.....
Brandi! Yeah! Wahoo! She guessed two of them and it was Let's go fly a kite from Mary Poppins. He loves that movie and I love listening to him sing.
Anyways Brandi wanted my peanut butter cups and I was happy to make them for her because that means I get to eat some also and they are REALLY yummy. Thanks to my wonderful mother-in-law for sharing the recipe.
I should have taken a picture of it so you could see the yummyness!!!! (I know that's not a word but that is what it is.)
Well I have a crying child and a poopy toddler so I need to go but thanks for all those how participated.
McKenna's addition...

Carson

So Carson has been doing actions to songs for quite a long time now but he would never sing besides saying 'beam' when singing Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam . Well he finally started singing a song and I was so excited when he did. So I got a video of it and I want you to let me know if you can guess what song it is. If you can and you are the first person to guess I will send you some cookies or something like that.

Well here you go... good luck!!!

Here are some pictures from the parade on the 4th. Carson was so cute he would stand out there and wait for the candy.

We did some finger painting a few weeks ago, Carson loved it. This is the finished product. There are more that he did, you can see them on the table in the background. He had paint everywhere, like I said he loved it.

These 2 owies happened within about 30minutes of each other. Poor boy!!! There is one right below his eye, that happened 1st, and a huge goose egg on his forehead.

He is such a sweet boy. He is always saying please and thank you, I am very grateful that he is my son. He is really into sleeping on the floor right now. We will put him in his bed and we will go in to check on him and McKenna and he will be asleep on the floor. It is really funny. Cameron even put a blanket underneath him to make him more comfy and he put it on his bed because he didn't want to use it. Silly kid.

We moved!!!

So we had this great opportunity to move into a trailer house that is a better deal than the apartment we lived in. It is $100 cheaper, has a dishwasher, washer and dryer hookups which means that we get to use the washer and dryer that have been stored in my parents shed for about a year. Yea!!! It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and big living room and kitchen. We are still working on moving out of our apartment but that should be done soon. It gets a little harder with two children. We have a yard that we have to take care of and Cameron just mowed the lawn. There is a swing set and Carson has been enjoying that and we have good neighbors, we are still in the same ward which is a huge plus because our ward is AMAZING!!!!
Pictures will come soon.

30 years WOW!!!!

On June 1st my parents celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. For those of you who know my family know that my parents have over come many trials. But I believe that their relationship is so much stronger because of what they have been through.

Just to give a little background my parents eloped to Elko Nevada and were married in jeans, t-shirts, and my mom was wearing flip flops. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls temple a little over a year later. They had their first baby 24 days after their 1st anniversary. They are proud parents of 5 children and even prouder grandparents to 8, soon to be nine, grand kids.
I am sure I speak for my whole family when I say that we look up to you, you are the best parents that I could ever ask for. Hope the next 30 years are even better.

I love you two!!!

Big update

So I haven't been doing very much lately on the blog so I am going to do a whole bunch and I am putting off doing dishes :)
Cameron- Isn't he so handsome.
As of yesterday we are official business owners of Mobile Mechanics LLC (I have no idea what the LLC stands for). Yea!!! We are very excited and are praying that this will open up lots of opportunities for him to enhance his skills. So if you or anybody you know needs thier car worked on drop him a line or an email at mobilemechanicsllc@gmail.com. Thanks!!!

Me- No need for picture. I realized today that I am way spoiled. I pulled out the iron to iron Carson's church shirt and I told Cameron I don't know if I have ever used this before. He just turned around and walked away. I remembered after that I had but not in about a year or more. I hate ironing with a passion. But I am pround to say that I did iron Carson's shirt. I did have to ask how to squirt out the water onto the shirt. I just love him, He irons my clothes for me when I need him to. I am spoiled.
Carson- We bought him big boy underwear this week and he has been liking them. The other day he didn't want to wear his diaper so I let him wear only the underwear.... yeah that didn't last very long. He pooped and peed a little. But at least I was expecting it to happen and so it wasn't a big deal. He has been doing well at going pee on the potty and he has pooped twice. He usually tells me he has to poop after he has already started. It it will get better. He is learning so much lately and it is so fun to watch him. This week he learned moo and the cat sound I don't know how to spell it out, the words duck, asleep, and blue, he started saying water or wawa again those are just the ones that I can thing of now but there are many more. I have been trying to teach him the animals and their sound for awhile but he hasn't been interested until lately. I don't remember if I said anything about Carson's dentist trip or not but it was not the greatest. It was his second trip the first one about 6 months ago but he threw up... yeah that's right threw up. luckily I caught it in my hands and then the dentist quickly got a garbage can but I was so embarrassed. Oh what can I say about his kid. He is just so stinking cute and....
he loves his sister.

McKenna- It has been a crazy week for her she is crawling all over the place and she started standing up in her crib which led to her standing up every where. We hadn't lowered her crib yet so we had to make sure and do that so she wouldn't topple out of it. The video is of her in her bed when I found her. I don't have any good ones of her crawling but I will get one and put it up. She is saying Mama and Dada and that is a lot of fun. And she loves to eat. She has discovered Carson's toys are better than hers and that makes things fun. She is such a happy little girl, not in this video but normally she is.

Here is a video of Carson that is pretty funny.

Well I hope that you enjoy!!!

Carson and McKenna

So McKenna really likes her big brother and it is so funny to watch them that I had to get a video of them together.

After this Carson started picking her up like you would a kid wearing overalls. I was laughing so hard. I got that on video also but I sound like an idiot so its not going on here.

Okay so I am trying to potty train Carson and if anybody has any advice PLEASE!!! give it to me. Thanks

LAST WEEK UP DATE

So McKenna has been throwing up for the last week! She started last Sunday and has thrown up everyday since then. She got a fever a few times on Thursday and when it came back at 102 degrees we took her in to the hospital to see what the heck was going on. The doctor said that she has fifths disease or in other words slapped check syndrome, or viral gastro-enteritis which is a fancy word for the flu. When ever she throws up she does it in between 6:30 to 9:00 pmish. So here I sit at 8:33pm waiting for it to happen and hoping that it will not. I am going nuts because she is not very happy at night either.
On a happy note she is getting up on her hands and knees and is very close to moving forward. I keep trying to get a video of it but she doesn't do it when I break the camera out. Of course!!!
I just took a video of McKenna she here she is in action.

Today Cameron and Carson built a fort in the front room and had fun playing in it

Oh and I got my hair cut this week also. Yea I feel like a new woman!!! I would put a picture on but it is the end of the day and it doesn't look the greatest any more.

Cameron is going to start a mobile mechanics business so if any of you need your car worked on or knows someone who does he can do it for you and you don't even have to leave your house. (with in a reasonable traveling distance.) So help us poor college students out and let Cameron build up his mechanics skills.

Thanks Auntie Rita

So my Auntie Rita made this purple dress for her daughter when she was pregnant..... well 16 years and 6 grandsons later I have a little girl and I get the dress (Yea me! or yea McKenna because she gets to wear it). As you can see by the time I got to take the picture it no longer fits her as a dress but it looks adorable with jeans. So I just want to say thank you to my Auntie Rita for the dress that you waited so long to give. THANK YOU!!!!! (I"m still holding out on Bobi having one for you though.)

This is Carson feeling left out and jumping in right
before I took a Picture of McKenna so I just had to add it.
Just a side note: Right after I took the picture of McKenna she spit up and a few hours later she pooped out of her outfit so it is a good thing that I took the picture when I did.

I love this program. It is so easy to use and if you were to ask my Mom, Brandi, or Bobi they could tell you that it takes me about oh... a weekend to do something like this. And it would probably be only one of them and the shorter of the two. So I am very proud of my accomplishment.
Hope you enjoy!!!

Anybody want to workout?

So this morning I got the gumption to workout. On channel 13 they do workouts at 10 o'clock and I try and workout at this time. Well this morning Carson decided he wanted to workout with me... So he walked forward and backwards as part of the warm-up and then he started doing somersaults. We showed him how to do those like 3 weeks ago so I don't know where he came up with the idea of doing them here but it was just to cute I had to video it.

Well after this he took at green ball that we have and sat on it like it was his workout ball and he thought that it was the greatest. I tell you this kid keeps me laughing.

I just have to add McKenna. She fell asleep with her teddy bear the other day and we thought it was precious.
I just love my family.

musician in the making

So Carson found Cameron's harmonica several months ago and he loved it. Well he found it again the other day and today I was able to get a video of him playing.

So what do you think? He is pretty good I must say.

Thank you Natalie for the bracelet and the bows. I was so excited to get them. McKenna doesn't have to many so I am grateful. Here is a picture of her with the bracelet and one of the three
bows.
She is so darn cute!
